Luxe: Lot 4 Cockburn Central

Cameron Chisolm Nicol invited Newforms to provide landscape architectural services for the concept design for Lot 4 Cockburn Central on behalf of Australand. The project was placed on hold in late 2008. Australand re-engaged Newforms in April 2010 to work with Woodhead for the Design Development, Documentation and Construction Administration stages of the project.

Luxe is an award-winning four-storey mixed-use commercial and residential development comprising 86 apartments and 13 retail units. In 2012 Luxe was awarded the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Award for Medium Density Development in WA.

The brief called for a cutting edge landscape response including a pool for the multi-residential apartment development within the dynamic transit-linked town centre for Perth’s South-Western suburbs. The Client and Architect requested the creation of a multi-level, multi-dimensional, dynamic yet functional landscape environment that would provide amenity for the projects inhabitants.

The project involved close liaison with the lead consultants as well as presentations to LandCorp and the City of Cockburn, culminating in the DA submission for the project.
